Every year I am torn over the whole Santa/no Santa debate but our kids already know it...how do you take that away? I don't know! So this year my goal is to use Santa and our elf, Riley, as a way to teach about Jesus' love for us. I wrote a new letter, that needs a lot of work, to help explain to the kids how Riley was not here to observe the kids being "naughty" or "nice", since Jesus loves us no matter what...I don't want that to be the focus. Anyhow, its still a rough concept that I am working on in my head. I'm hoping by the time the boys can remember what the letters said that I have it worked out a little more eloquently! :)
So Riley showed up yesterday afternoon and we kicked off the season with a new movie (Planes), pizza in the living room, and homemade PJ pants...that the kids LOVED. :) It only took making 7 pairs to get 5 successful pairs! Oops! Now that I have got it figured out though...I am on a pant making rampage! Look out...you're getting pants for Christmas! HA!

^^ So these were a MAJOR pant fail! HA! The pants were actually really cute but just a little too snug for Liv to pull up..so I decided I could just add a section in the center to make them bigger....all I really did was manage to make PJ pants with a diaper in the center. I laughed and laughed and laughed at them. Ah well, sometimes my ideas work, and sometimes not! I had also made Reese's pair too small, so I used the legs of Olivias pants (since I sewed in that fancy side panel) to make a new, bigger pair for Reese. :)

This is the tutorial I used. It was super cinchy. My advice is to make sure you use a pair of loose fitting pants to pattern the girls pants, especially if you're not using a stretchy fabric. Also be sure to leave enough length between the crotch and the waistband.

Everyone rocking out their new pants. J says, "these are com-fo-ble!". If J likes them....I hit a winner!
