I woke up this morning thinking “today is the day!”. The movers showed up about 9am and we thought for sure we would be all finished and on the road by noon or one. That came and went and we were optimistic for 3pm, then 5pm, and we were finally loaded on the road by 7:15 pm. It was a little bit crazy. The movers could not get the semi into the driveway because of the low branches on the tree in our front yard. If I had known I would have made sure they were trimmed. They blocked the highway ALL day and the poor guys had to walk up and down our driveway a zillion times….not to mention up and down the stairs!!
It was a long day. And an emotional day. I’m moving away from my mommy!! That is the 100% absolute hardest part about this move. The fact that it took sooo long to get loaded was very draining. It felt like we were sitting around waiting for the anvil to drop. I could see the stress on moms face and on Olivias face and I could feel it in my own mood and attitude. Telling her “bye” was not fun at all!
Thankfully Dad is making the trip with us. That makes my transition a little bit easier! He is going to help us pick out appliances and get them installed. We traveled to just outside of St Louis before stopping for the night. It was a long day and we were super tired!!
