Four something years ago, we were trying to decide whether or not to commit to join the Peoria Vineyard Church plant team. I was pregnant with J. We decided to fast. I fasted using my dryer. Stupid, right? That was HUGE for me....the clothes line was way in the back of the yard, I was big and pregnant, and its time consuming to hang clothes. :) That was my rationale. Anyhow. I was back hanging clothes one day and praying about the move. I heard "you will sell the house before there is ever a sign in the yard" and felt like that was a YES and we decided to commit. It never happened and the prophecy was long forgotten.
Fast forward to August 2013. We have decided to move to Texas instead. (Which has really been our dream the whole time we've been married.) My only stipulation? That we do not try to sell the house while we live there. Pregnant with 4 kids earth side already, a dog and a cat, it wasn't happening. So we moved 16 hours away, fulling relying on God to sell our house before it sat empty all winter.
After we left Crouse Concepts came in and did some amazing clean up work for us with the paint, carpeting, trim, and windows. (He is an amazing man, does great work, and you should TOTALLY hire him for all your jobs). Two wonderful women came in and worked their butts off cleaning the place from top to bottom (I can give you their info if you are looking for someone, please msg me). And FINALLY in October, it was ready to put on the market.
At the beginning of October I attended a ladies breakfast at our new church. I met a woman named Deborah. She was not from our church and was promptly relocating to the Fort Worth area, she was attending with a friend because she was bored at home. When she heard that we were getting ready to list our house and anxious about it, she insisted that she needed to pray for us. "I had a woman pray for me before we listed our house," she said, "She prayed that it would sell within 7 day. We got an offer on the 4th day. I have to pass on that anointing." So she prayed. She prayed that we would receive a good offer within 7 days. I claimed it. Nick claimed it. We believed. THEN we remembered what God had told me before. Sold without a sign. (AND we got to bless her move back with a HUGE stack of awesome boxes to pack with)
On October 25, Mike officially had our listing documents and showed the house THAT day to a young family. They were obviously smitten. They made a great offer on October 28th. We accepted it the next day. I kept asking Nick if it was for real. It was REALLY happening. We had sold the house before the sign went up. God is so great.
Now you did see a sign. Everyone needed to know it was for sale...right?? :) In a record breaking amount of time we closed on the sale of the house on Nov 15th. Twenty-two days after it was listed. The new family has now moved into the home and we are praying that it is as much of a blessing to them as it was to us. Every time we think about what happened we send up prayers of thanksgiving. Amazing.
Before we left we were figuring out how much it would cost us to continue to own it for a year, empty. The bank didn't expect it to sell easily. We didn't expect it to sell quickly. But God had other plans for us and KNEW we needed that relief. Through this move and sale, we found a lot of great people in Sullivan who helped us immensely. If you need referals, let us know. But most of all....we were reminded that if our God is for us, who can stand against us? Thank you Lord for selling our house and being true to your word. We love you.
